History/Background Information: A scarce 1/2 Pond struck for the ZAR in the year 1892. Double Shaft wagon variety with "os" initials on Kruger's bust. Short lived series issued between 1892 and 1897. Struck to the same specifications as the British Half Sovereign.

Condition Notes: A beautiful example of this first year of issue half-pond. Well struck and retaining almost complete lustre and mint bloom. Wonderfully presented in honey gold coloration. Very attractive and bright for the grade.
