History/Background Information: First year of issue in the ZAR Ponde series struck between 1892 - 1902. This been the more common of the two 1892 varieties depicting the "incorrect" European wagon (with double shafts) on the reverse and the engraver's initials "O.S" on the bust of Kruger.

Condition Notes: An immaculately struck first year of issue Pond. Very rarely encountered in grades 64 and above. Strikingly bold appearance with a sharp strike, cascading lustre and a strong prooflike finish suggesting that this coin could have been in the first few struck. A seldom found offering.
