History/Background Information: A scarce series issued between 1892 and 1897. Struck at the ZAR mint in Pretoria.

Certification: NGC MS63+ (Brilliant Unc/MS)

Condition Notes: No words could do justice to this incredible specimen of a 1894 Tickey. Wholly under-graded in my opinion and one of the most beautiful coins I've handled. Silky smooth lustre adorns the surfaces which are flawless and free from any significant distraction. I purchased this coin in raw form thinking it to be a gem (65 and above) example (which it is in my opinion). Very scarce in such loftly grade.

POP Statistics: 8 in MS63, 1 in MS63+ (this coin) with only 7 better (NGC Stats)

Mintage: 104 000

What does the plus designation mean? - NGC assigns a + to coins at the high end of their assigned grade, approaching the quality requirements for the next grade. For example, a coin graded NGC MS 64+ is close to the quality of a coin graded NGC MS 65. In addition to their superior technical merit, coins that receive a + must have above-average eye appeal.
