History/Background Information: A scarce gold 1 Pond struck in the ZAR in the year 1894. Struck to the same specifications as the British sovereign. Struck shortly before the second Anglo-Boer War.

Certification: NGC MS61 (Choice Unc/Mint State)

Condition Notes:  An immaculate Pond that comes heavily contested (and scarecely found) in Mint State. Only 19 coins to date have achived MS designation. Superbly presented with swirling lustre and impressive coloration. Bold details for type which typcially exhibits striking weakness on the high points. Very rare.

Mintage: 235 000

POP Statistics: 5 in MS61 with only 14 coins in better MS grades (NGC Stats)
