History/Background Information: A beautiful gold 1 Pond struck in the ZAR in the year 1898. Struck to the same specifications as the British sovereign. Struck very shortly before the second Anglo-Boer War.

Certification: PCGS MS61 (Choice Unc/MS)

Condition Notes: A choice uncirculated specimen which although somewhat common in mint state retains its collectability and demand. This coin is decidedly better than the assigned grade and delivers an in hand appearance far superior to that of MS61. Rich orange-gold toning graces its surfaces complimented with flashy luster throughout. Choice in such condition.

Mintage: 136 870
