History/Background Information: 1 Pound Pretoria issue of the ZAR government (Gouvernements Noot). Issued against the security of state owned farms with a 6% interest. Hand signed by the Auditor General (JS Marais) and Treasurer General (NS Malherbe). Dated 28.5.1900.
 
Condition Notes: Model 2 variety with star border and with "NO" in the serial number. A well preserved example retaining all the bold characteristics of the type. Additionally contains a CJC 66 cancellation stamp. A note with an incredible history.
