History/Background Information: 5 Pound Pretoria issue of the ZAR government (Gouvernements Noot). Issued against the security of state owned farms with a 6% interest. Hand signed by the Auditor General (JS Marais) and Treasurer General (NS Malherbe). Dated 28.5.1900.
 
Condition Notes: Model 3 variety with spade border and without "NO" in the serial number. A superb, fully uncirculated example retaining all the bold characteristics of the type. A beautiful note with an incredible history. Additionally contains the "Cape of Good Hope" Watermark.
