History/Background Information: 1 Pound Pietersburg issue of the ZAR government (Gouvernements Noot). Issued against the security of state owned farms with a 6% interest. Hand signed by the Acting Auditor General (AP Brugman) and Acting Treasurer General (PN de Villiers). Dated 1.4.1901.

 

Condition Notes: April dated variety. Retaining all the bold characteristics of the type. Additionally carries the scarcer Monkton Kent watermark. A rare find and beautiful note with an incredible history.
