History/Background Information: 5 Pound issue of the Volkskas Limited Bank dated 1949 being the first year of issue. Highest denomination issued by this institution between 1949 and 1959.
 
Condition Notes: A scarcely seen issue. Approximately 80,000 notes were printed across all dates of this famed rarity. This date been the scarcer of the two issues. In admirable condition and very seldom seen better. Very attractive coloration. Rare in any grade but especially desirable in this solid state of preservation.
